It will be mayhem for the next couple of years as the Brits wrangle their exit from the EU. Short term see both of the UK political leaders to go as a direct consequence of the result and market turmoil on the US and Euro markets Friday local time.

Medium to longer term (after the formal withdrawal process has been concluded) will be of more interest as to what deal the UK can secure. One thing of note is that Scotland and Nth Ireland votes to stay while most of England voted to leave; Gibraltar voted to stay with a 95% yes vote.

Will be interesting to see if the Square Mile (London’s financial district) can survive being outside the Eurozone.

One point of clarification – if there has been a change in the statute covering land management in Queensland, it would be on the Queensland parliamentary website and other websites (QLD statutes Online and a non profit group), not to mention it would have recived coverage in the tabloid media by now.

Just as a point of interest – the last update of Queensland's Land Act 1994 was March 2012 and the land Regulation 2009 was Feb 2012, prio to the state election.

In the strictest meaning of property rights in Australia (which is derived from English sources) the term real estate is actually derived from the Spanish meaning for 'royal', not 'physical' in the modern (ie 20th century meaning).  That is why landowners pay rates and need licences for water and mineral extraction and the like.  Land management is under the purview of state, not federal, governments – so the Governor General and the federal government has no direct right to interfere in land management (outside of certain circumstances pertaining to envrionmental circumstances).  Mind you – this is ioverly simplistic and non-lawyer, others will be able to provide more detailed legal opinions than I would.

Can't help with specific planners for the application.

One thing I would suggest is to engage a planner for the application simply due to the complexity of planning laws.  You can do it yourself but a comptent planner can help with navigating the planning laws.

One step back – what are your objectives? When that question is answered, then you can determine the objectives under the categories you have outlined.

Any further answers are dependant upon the answer of the question above.

If I was to participate, then I would insist on a corporate entity being established with clear ground rules for entry, participation, dividend payments and exit strategies (whether voluntary, through deaht or disability or removal by others). To me, anything less would be too high a risk both financially and personally.

As always, seek professional legal and accounting advice before entering into this type of arrangement as the costs of exiting may be too painful.

Here is a link to Dolf’s Australian shopfront, Pow Wow Events:

The page was last updated from March 2005 to incorporate his last visit, no mention of any seperation from the Rich Dad team.

Found him of interest but book seemed to focus on the USA market (from my recollection of the book).

I will need to rework your categories to better fit my reply, so here goes:

Legal: Covers ALL aspects of establishing company (if thats what you want to do), transaction documentation, liasion with ASIC (in conjunction with other advisors listed below) and the like.

Finances: Covers accountancy, tax returns, seperation between personal and business income and expenses, advisory on planning and other financial related services.

Real Estate: Able to provide professional advise on real estate in the locale you want to be in – from residential, investment, industrial and the like.

    Hope this helps….

The plan aims to be an overarching document that “coontrols” development by identifying open space and development areas (amongst others) for South East Queensland. This plan needs to be considered with other regional planning documents including the infrastructur plan, the transport plan plus some others that are being developed at present. In essence, any new big greenfield developments require a special statute through Queensland parliament to recieve consent.

If you are a developer, it is indeed happy days as this plan overrides local government plans. I know that Redland Shire is in deep trouble at the moment due to a perception that a majority of councillors are too pro developer.

SEQ at present is at a crossroads – too much development placing an unwanted strain on infratructure and other services leading to meltdown.

Would also suggest reading the local press and visiting any community groups (most councils have contact details on their websites or through their offices). That way you can find out information that may not be available through other souces.

One area you might consider is the Burnett and Bundaberg region. I moved here about a month ago and the amount of land earmarked for development is astonishing.

Also support what the others have been saying – put simply do your reserach.

Yes it is June and the “tax effective schemes” are out in force here in Queensland. As with previous years, poor witless sods will be duped and they will cry out for more regulation. Oh well.

With regards to infrastructure bonds, check with your stock broker or investorweb to see what is coming up. Otherwise you can get into Macqaurie Infrastructure Fund through it’s ASX listing.

I am based at Moore Park Beach about 30 minutes north of Bundaberg in the Burnett Shire.
The property market here is interesting – some people have holiday places and others reside here full time. I am lead to believe that about 700 fall into the 2nd category.

The market here is what Redland Shire was about 25-30 years ago. massive property valuations over the past 3 years lead to the potential that Burnett will go the way of the neigbouring shires of Brisbane with mainly residential populations servicing a central hub.

Four Corners broadcast a story on the issue during 2003 – have also included a link on Super chargers that was also broadcast during the same year.

    Links below

    Link One – Super Chargers

    Link Two – Tall Stories

With regards to the 60 minutes story – NJ was “on song” with his usual message of “don’t trust anyone”. To some extent, it does fall to those on the reciving end to obtain external advice – but NJ’s comparsion of these victims to rape victims (in the Q&A session on the 60 minutes site) did disturb me.

Would also recommend John Burley’s book. It is more directed towards the available options you have rather than any specific strategies – although the edition I havew is somewhat dated content waise (some of the organisaiotns mentioned have merged, gone out of business). But structure wise, a good starting point

1stly – get a team together that knows its stuff. You do need an ABN and be formally registered with the ATO as a non profit organisation to ensure that donations are tax deductible.

Contact your local law society and accountant organisation etc to get a list of those who can help – then it is a lot of leg work.

    Best of luck to you.

    Teamwork and dedication!

Teamwork – get those within your ciricle of influence to contribute as much as they can. also have a seperate area for reserach and paperwork associated with your search etc – that way you have everything in one area without the stress of trying to find stuff at an inconvient (ie tax) time.

Time – in part related to the above but try to establish a schedule for your efforts and whole of life as well. I remmebr reading somewhre that we all live to a schedule, but most do not plan and live with the shambolic results.

    Dedication – obvious.

    hope this is of help.
