It is not dangerous and it does not have to ever be replaced. An asbestos fibro house in Chester Hill, (Sydney) is never going to be worth more with the latest version of wallboard.</p>

There is a danger but it appears to be low. My understanding is that these homes are safe but avoid working the asbestos by sanding,drilling, and sawing. <p>A nicely painted &#8220;fibro&#8221; can also make a very nice presentation. A new coat of paint can be more effective than a relatively expensive cladding job.</p>

It is somthing that can be cleaned so I guess it really shouldn&#8217;t be a barrier. You make a good point that not many landlords permit pets but very often a tenant will slip one in anyway.<br />
