The people who sold to me hated neighbours, so they bought two blocks side by side twenty something years back. Then built their dream home right in the middle of the blocks.</p>

I have always believed that there is no such thing as GOOD DEBT.<br />
All debt is bad. Yes you can work a rort on your tax return.</p>
<p>But over all, you would be better off collecting full rent from your rentals,paying no bank interest (Oh GOD! how wonderful). Then paying some taxation.</p>

That&#8217;s no big deal.<br />

I&#8217;ve been looking just below the hills area.<br />
I&#8217;m after a whole duplex.Value of approx. $600 &#8211; 650k.<br />
My chosen area is Quakers Hill.<br />
Have you any news on this suburb?<br />
Location seems right. Train, schools. And at last,a decent new road system. Not that far to Westfields shopping at Blacktown.<br />
Then again, not to close, either.</p>

Most of what you mention are all good ways of searching for the right investment property.</p>
<p>You would have to be very careful asking a friend, unless that friend owns property in the area that you are searching.</p>
<p>The other option is to pay for your information from the likes of RP.Data or Residex.</p>

Big Aussie Home loans has put the wind up me for buying in Sydney.<br />
Yesterday made an offer for a full duplex in the (Sydney) suburbs.<br />
Might need to change my mind on that one.</p>
