    Hello everyone,

We are currently selling some real estate, and buying some real estate.  So, we are spending awful amounts of time looking at very poor photography of people's most significant financial assets, and reading very average copy written to hopefully convince some one to purchase it.  It strikes me that perhaps there would be a role for a freelance photographer / copy writer to compose these advertisements for a fee?  What do you think?  I'm a handy enough photographer, and when I can control my multiple personalities for long enough to write in the same person for the whole piece, a reasonable enough writer – perhaps this is a new business idea for me.  What do you think?  As vendors, would you pay an additional fee to have better constructed advertising?  How much would you pay?  What would you expect for that money?  Do you think agents would pay out of their commission?  The amount of commission agents charge, for the job they do in some cases, is just insane, in my opinion.

I could take these skills and be an agent  – but that doesn't interest me as I don't want to work weekends.

    Cheers

    Sara

In most cases (I reckon) the vendor uses a professional photographer, usually sub contracted via the REA.

The copy is usually written by the REA which can be great, decent or poor. I guess you could approach agencies and offer them your services but can’t say for sure if they will be happy to happy for it or go to the vendor and say: “you can either use my average writing skills or pay extra for this guy!”

How much were you thinking to charge for the copy?
