I’m looking to set up the same financial structure steve recommends in his book in the uk.ie:

To set up a family trust and have a Ltd company you own be the trustee of the trust and guarantee the loan.

Does anyone know if this is possible, viable and legal in the uk? An whether it has the same positive attributes regarding asset protection, tax and borrowing capacity as in Australia? And if so, are there any accountants or solicitors you recommend?

It should be pretty much the same in the UK as in Australia. Trust law developed in the UK. There will probably be some differences in the taxation side of things though.
