    Hi

I am looking into purchasing a property in Perth on a large block with the aim of subdividing and then selling. My plan would be to live in the existing house whilst going through the subdivision process to avoid paying any capital gains tax when selling. As I am just starting out with this idea I was wondering if there was anyone in Perth or else where in Australia who has done something similar as I would really appreciate a little guidance if possible.

    Thanks

    Brent

Why would you not pay CGT when you sell the subdivided block ???

    I’m interested..

I thought that if you sold your primary place of residence you didn’t have to pay CGT. I could be wrong though.
