By the way the Student loans work great in NZ – Here in Aust. we have HECS, etc so it’s harder to get these loans.

Yea. Im in Aust. I know too well about the HECS :(

So the chances of me getting a student loan are not as good now? I doubt that they will lend me the money to invest in NZ?

Only one way to find out.

Get a good broker (TerryW is good, as are others on this forum). I don’t suggest you go straight to a bank, as really in my opinon a mortgage broker will get you just as good a deal (and you don’t even have to pay for them!).

Hi, we have an ANZ at uni, so i’ll go ask there tomorrow, but do you think you would still be able to get a student loan if it is a joint loan and the other person is not a student. I suppose i’ll find out. thanks for that idea.

If you can’t get a loan cause its under joint names – then why not just get the loan under your name since you’re the student and have a partnership agreemsnt b/w both of you outlaying the repayment conditions.

    Kind Regards,
    George.

Let me venture to suggest that a broker would know more about ANZ mortgages than would a teller at the uni branch. The are also likely to recommend any beter lenders which your ANZ teller wont.
