My contract with the company I work for finishes in 18 months. I have always wanted to go overseas etc.. I also wish to build wealth thru +ve $flow properties. I have purchased my PPOR and Im now wondering whether to start buying IP’s or just save up and get the hell out of OZ for a few years. What do you think??….
Maybe I could buy IP’s overseas…or maybe I could buy some before I go..or maybe I could achieve financial independance before I go….
    What to do…….[confused2]

Consider the UK……after the market has tanked!

$+ve + cap gains possible if purchasing at value.

    Go overseas.

You will regret not going when you are older. My best memories are of travelling!

    tycoon :)

Can you do both? Put a deposit on an IP and also go oveseas? Friends of mine are big fans of Vietnam and it’s one of the cheapest places to go. I reckon I wanna go there too- and soon!

I just got back from overseas- my first ever time. And I did it thanks to a CG in RE! I reckon RE is about living well. Going overseas can be one way of living well, as can any holiday. In fact, it’s probably not that much more expensive to go OS or to go on a local holiday.

If you go to a place where the exchange rate is better than the $AUS, you can have a ball! (although watch out for the expensive $euro countries- you’ll be begging on the streets :))

Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia are a lot of fun. Easy enough to fly into Bangkok, get a sleeper train to the Laos border and then just wander around from there. I had a ball!

    You’d love it Kaye

Go overseas. You can always start your investing later but can’t get your 20s back.

    Go Overseas !!!

Depending on where you go, tax rates can be very low compared to Aust. Meaning your saving capacity is greatly increased !!!

I’m based in Singapore, and paid 9% income tax last year [exhappy] Hong Kong is about the same as well….

If you want to work overseas, try to get a job before you come over…. makes life easier….

    GO FOR IT !!!!! [cowboy2]

First Law of Business ( yes, if you are a prop’ investor, then you’re in business )

It must give you life, not suck it from you.

    What does that mean?

Structure your business and develop a strategic plan so the profits and cash flow from your PI business fuel your life goals. (and that includes things like fitness goals, relationship goals, spiritual goals, travel goals, money goals, health goals etc)

If you can’t walk away from your business for a week, a month or longer without it falling apart, then you dont have a business, you have a job.

So there you go, you CAN have your travel and do PI at the same time provided you develop a plan to do it.

When is the best time to travel????
When somebody else pays for it…. hence your business becomes the funds source for your life style.

    Hi everyone,

Im thinking to buy a few $flow +ve IPs before heading over to Euro or US late next year. What books can I read to help me set up my IPs so that they wont need too much assistance whilst im away for a year or 2 wandering around the Meditereinian or drinking in Manhatten somewhere??
Hey, I hear that property in Prague is very cheap and the aussie dollar is very strong over there, but this may change when they join the EU later this year?.
