    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good property accountant in the Ballarat area?

While we are at it, does anyone also know of a good solicitor in this area who deals a lot with property investors?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Tabmo

I don't know of a good accountant in Ballarat but you've got James GG down the road in Melbourne from House of Wealth who will do a fantastic job http://houseofwealth.com.au/contact-us/

    Cheers

Thanks Jamie. Since reading your post I have checked out their website and Facebook page. Will mark them as 'possibles'!

    Hi Tambo

I do all my contact with my accountant via email and phone.  No need to go into his office.  In that regard, you can pick someone anywhere in Australia.  Pick someone good, not necessarily someone local.

That sounds great JacM. I didn't realise you could do that. Do you have to scan all of your receipts and stuff?

I've got one name of an accountant, are there anymore out there, just in case?!

No you do not need to scan your receipts and provide them to your accountant… unless he/she prefers to see them.  If you are getting the accountant to do a tax return & audit for a company or self managed super fund however, yes, you'll have to provide evidence of everything.

My accountant is based in my home town but we operate similar to Jac and her accountant – almost everything's done via email and phone and we rarely catch up for a face to face.

Email/phone usually ends up being the most efficient way to do business anyway. This goes for most service professions IMO.

    Cheers

Thanks for your advice Jamie and Jac. Sounds perfect for me, I don't mind emailing/phone whatever. My broker is in Melbourne and that worked out for me. Great to see I can do the same with a solicitor and an accountant!
