I live in Alice Springs and am considering going to Melbourne to see Gatherum-Goss & Assoc. to get my tax done. Can I claim the expenses incurred in doing so?

    Flights, accomodation, hire car etc?

Is it incorporated into this years return or part of next years?

    Thanks

    HI Mydral,

Yes – refer to page 60 of the Tax Pack.

As for a trip to inspect an owned property costs would be apportioned in relation to the amount of time spent with the accountant. Eg a 10 day holiday with a morning at the accountant wouldn’t be fully deductible.

    Myydral,
The expenses are claimed in the year they are incurred.
