I’m currently planning to hold properties in 3 coutries in Asia, in Europe and in the Middle East. My plan is to buy more properties going forward although I will still be working in a separate office job. Is there a preferred structure as an Australian permanent resident that I should set up? Any thoughts? Who should I speak to about this in Sydney?

You will probably need a different structure in each country you invest in. I am interested in investing in Asia too, where are you looking at?

Try some of Lance Spicers literature, I am a little wary of some of his ideas, but he certainly addresses offshore investing with enthusiasm, and goes into considerable detail.

You can check out his stuff at http://www.tridentpress.com.au

Hi Milty, thanks for the tip re http://www.tridentpress.com.au. Has anyone read something of this guy Spicer? He offers far too many books. I’d be interested in feedback of our gurus here. Since almost everything about topics like “Derivatives” and “Asset backed securitisation” fits in one book I believe Spinner is just flooding us with details. Any readers out there?

    Cheers-AJ

I’m looking into Shanghai, Dubai, Malaysia and Fiji as the returns are 9-15% and the capital growth is exceptional.

My collegues overseas are sending me info on the market and properties available.

If you would like some info let me know and I can forward it on.
