Interest rates will increase no matter which government is in power (Labour/Liberal) but I believe that by labour now gaining control it will amplify the situation and result in a sharper and more powerfull increase in interest rates and inflation.

Labour will literally spend spend spend and we will probably see budget deficits (The best way to predict future behaviour is from past behaviour) and this is what the labour party always does.

Employment laws will go back into the dark ages and by trying to increase a few peoples wages by a dollar or two will have huge negitive impacts on unemployment. Employees will discontinue to employee people because of the red tape sinews attached and bosses will be very hesitant to hire new staff, This will lead to an increase in unemployment, less money in the ecconomy, more dole payments and repossessions.

Interest rates will skyrocket, the government will be broke and property prices will be forced down by a recession leading to many golden investment opportunities (if you didn't get capsized in the storm)

This is my prediction for the future, grim as it may be for some, but prosperous for people whom are prepared.

Now is a good time to start liquidating paper assets and have money in the bank.

Rudd has Charisma, Youth and Elusive slogans but these are not the things required to successfully run a country. Does anyone in the labour party actually have any experience with the opperation of a country…or even a coffee shop for that matter ?

We shall see if the same thing happens every time the reds are in power:

Budget deficits and sub 10% interest rates.

Maybe it will be different this time around ? though improving from a highly experienced government who brought the greatest prosperity Australia has ever seen with a government of political recruits may prove difficult.

I have family who built 1 million dollars worth of commercial offices 6 years ago, it it now valued at 3 million and returns 200k+ p.a

contracts are for 5 years at a time and the first month is free. I don't know where someone came up with 6-12 months..

Office/Shop fixouts are payed by the tenant and all changes have to be reversed at the end of the lease at the tenants expense.

The right commercial building in the right position blitzes ANY residential property.

Ohh, I almost forgot to comment on what was said about passing off tradies after one year of apprenticeship, Apart from it being ridiculous, its irresponsible. I'm a self employed Plasterer and have been in the trade for 5 years, I'm still learning new things all the time.

I think you will find there is a reason Tradies charge hefty prices for silly little primary school jobs, As a Tradie myself there is nothing more annoying then traveling around the place to do a little bum job that makes you a few bucks when you could be working a full continuous day on a new house construction.

Unbeknown to you the service which is preformed wastes more time then just the few hours they are actually In your place doing the work, Then if they want to go do another job they have to waste an hour or so getting there and unpacking again, looking at what they need to do ect.

Most tradies who work for themselves I know off do not wish to work for any less then $50 minimum, After all many bosses are making upwards of $100/hr on housing/comercial construction

I would always sleep in, I would get back into the gym and get serious about it like I was when I was younger, build lots of hot rods and have the biggest workshop/shed/s you ever seen.

I would go 4wd driving a lot and travel around once a year or so, exploring Australia and other countrys.

I would continue to purchase more propertys/businesses ect as to increase my monopoly :P

I would contribute to certain causes more then I do currently.

And most of all, I would have Fun. :D
