Stamp duty on the transfer however does not fall into this category, it is not tax deductible. However you can add this cost to the cost base of the property.</p>

<p>your income is 75000- tax to be paid on 06/07 tax rates is $17,850.<br />
but the IP will bring down ur taxable income to $68 199 ($13602/2)</p>
<p>plus depreciation needs to be added into the equation mate.<br />
and it depends on your tax witheld.</p>

Means you&#8217;ll get to claim a bigger percentage on the deductions. <p>im not experienced in property investing but i have met a fair few FP&#8217;s, Mort. Brokers etc as i work in an accounting office, and from what ive seen a good one can be worth their weight in gold. The hard bit is finding a good one. You may have friends who could recommend people to you.</p>

<p>i do know abit about economics and I know the property market is weakening but i think there are ways to make money in any falling market.</p>
<p>As for reading those books ive read richest man in babylon, and at least 3 richdad poor dad books.</p>
