    Hi All,

I would like to know if you have tips on how to find the best real estate agents in a local area to sell my property? Are there any objective ratings/statistics that are publicly available?

What are the best questions to ask? Any other suggestions you may have like books, online resources and so on?

Thanks in advance. I really appreciate your time and advice.

Check out how many listings they have and how many properties they have recently sold – the good ones are usually pretty busy!

Referrals and word of mouth also goes a long way. If you've got friends/family in the area – see if they can recommend anyone.

    Cheers

    Jamie

You could drive around the area and see who has the most signs up. The major real estate websites can also give you an idea of who is active. I'd probably suggest you invite 2 or 3 agents over for an appraisal and ask them about some of their recent sales in the area. I'd ask them what their recommendations were to get your property sold if they were successful in gaining your business

    Thanks for your replies.

I would like to clarify in case I haven't explained myself properly. By best agents, I meant best individual agents not just best real estate company. How can I ensure I get the best agent with best track record selling my property?

Call up a few of the local agents and enquire about some of the listings they have and attend some of the local auctions. By doing this you will see who makes the most effort and which agents are hungry.
