    Hello All,
The subject says it all. What amenities are best to have near a property? Shopping malls, parks, etc? Which ones do you consider the best to have?

    Regards,
    Dominico

Dominico, I think it depends on the property, the area and the type of tenant you’re looking to attract. We have one IP in a lovely, quiet, secluded area and none of the tenants have given a hoot about public transport as you have to have a car to live there.

On the other hand, the young houseshare tenants in our inner city property just LOVE the fact that Blockbuster Video, KFC and Red Rooster are just a few doors away! They’re not concerned about parks or good schools, but another big attraction was the fact that the train station is 2 minutes away – trains are always a big plus I’d say.

I agree with housemender, it depends on the tenants you are trying to attract. If it’s a family type home, then they’ll want schools, shops and possibly transport.

If it’s a unit for singles they’ll not want schools but often want cafe strips or nightlife in walking distance or public transport, unless it’s student accomodation then it’ll need to be as near a possible to the uni or school.

With fuel prices rising again, it’s likely that public transport will become wanted by more people.

    Regards
    Judy
