This goes out to anyone who is using electricity at their own homes…

If you could stop emitting 10 tonnes of pollution (greenhouse emissions) into the atmosphere annualy, at no extra cost… would you?

    Cheers,
    Jacob.

Is this a trick question? Sounds like something the doorknockers ask [blush2]

I am sure most people would say yes.

    But would you?

Knowing what we know about the greenhouse effect, global warming and the works, and that Australia has one of the worlds highest carbon emission rates…

Would you help stop that by swapping electricity providers, from fossil fuel methods to 100% renewable energy methods (such as wind farms and low impact hydro)?

    Cheers,
    Jacob.

    Yes.

In fact I pay $1pw extra on top of my electricity bill to make sure my home is “carbon neutral”.

I also use compact fluorescent lights, and when the off peak hot water system in my IP finally dies it will be replaced with instant hot water heating to reduce energy consumption by up to 80%. This is a win for my tennants and a win for the planet. :)

If anyone would like any information on how to reduce energy and water consumption in their homes/large scale developments, please feel free to send me an email to [email protected] and I will endeavour to help you out.

I have 8 years experience in urban sustainability from things as small as changing the light globes in a familiy home to installing geothermal air conditioning units in commercial buildings.

I am more than happy to provide any help I can to forum members to reduce the footprint we have on this planet.

    Cheers

    Louise.

Well nice to see property investors are in tune with the environment and seek to keep their pursuits environmentally sustainable… We are sure to choke on our own pollution in the next 30 years the rate we’re going at!

    Cheers,
    Jacob.

spi, i’m in tune with the environment, as long as its concrete and at least 25 levels high i’m loving it (green hills on horizon optional, prefer more skyscrapers tho!)

    just joking…
