<p>I believe there are a number of places to invest in the US.  I think that both Orlando, FL and Atlanta, Georgia have good long term prospects.  I myself have invested in Florida and am happy with the returns and long term potential.  Like anything, it is important to do research and like anything, location is key.</p>

<p>Yes, there are many issues in the US &#8211; but compared to the cost of doing business here &#8211; it can be a good option for Aussies.  Stamp duty alone here can be around $25K &#8211; that is half of a townhouse or maybe a condo in the US.  Call me if you want to know some information.</p>

<p>You can either use HSBC to set up or if over in the US &#8211; try Bank of America, Citibank etc.  Ozforex are good on the transfer as their rates are usually much better.</p>
