If you build a new house then sell it after you live there for a year, not just no CGT exemption, you might also need to pay GST, you&#039;d better talk to your accountant to disscuss this. Tax is just one consideration of investment, not your purpose. Paying 1 m tax, means you can earn 1m at the same time. </p>
