Faucets usually fail due to a combination of internal wear, poor material, and water conditions. The most common issue is the cartridge inside the faucet. Over time, constant water pressure and regular use cause it to wear out, which leads to dripping or leakage.

Another major factor is water quality. In many areas, hard water contains minerals that build up inside the faucets. This buildup can damage seals and reduce performance. Cheaper faucets are more vulnerable to this because they don’t have strong internal components.

Installation also plays a role. If a faucet is not installed properly, it may develop issues much earlier than expected. Even a good-quality product can fail if fittings are loose or misaligned.

In short, faucet failure is usually not a single issue — it’s a mix of quality, usage, and maintenance.
