I’m looking to get started in property development but need to find investors or business partners to help with equity. With lenders being so restrictive these days it seems like a necessity to have a good equity position going into a deal.
The typical answer I hear is friends or family. Quite a few people in my family have been involved in property (some with great success, others less so), but there isn’t anyone I could see myself working with.
I have learnt plenty about development over the years from family and reading, have done work in the construction industry, have a commerce degree from a top Australian university, and even have a lead on an excellent development site that is not being publicly marketed.
Where can a young guy raise some capital to get started?
