    Hi All,

I’d like to find out how much should I budget to hire a town planner for preparing and lodging a planning permit application including all drawings, plans, reports, arborist, surveyor etc.

This is for adding a townhouse behind existing dwelling on a corner block in metropolitan eastern Melbourne suburbs. I’ve been shopping around for a while and received quotes ranging from below $10K to over $30 and it’s difficult to judge whether some are underquoting, or others overquoting.

Also, from your experience, is it a common practice for town planner to charge extra for responding to council requests for additional info? Or is it normally included in their fees?

    Thanks.
