    Hi all,

    I thought it would be a good idea to put a comprehensive list together of all of the abbreviations that are used in property investing so that people who are new to property investing can have a resource that will enable them to understand what they are reading.

    So often we forget that some people don’t have knowledge of the terminology we use and this should be of assistance to them…

    I will start the list below and if anyone else can add to it please reply to this thread and by the end of it we should have all of them covered. I’m sure there’s many that I have missed. Also, if there are any corrections to my list feel free to let me know.

    Thanks everyone for your input; here’s what I have come up with so far….

    CC = Cross collateralisation
    CF+ = cash flow positive
    CF- = cash Flow negative
    IO = Interest only loan
    IP = Investment property
    LMI = Lenders mortgage insurance
    LOC = Line of Credit
    LVR = Loan to value ratio
    NG = negatively geared
    NODOC = no document loan
    OA = Offset account
    P+I = Principal and interest loan
    PG = positively geared
    POA = Partial offset account
    PPOR = Principal place of residency
    RBA = Reserve Bank of Australia
    VF = Vendor Finance

    Cheers, fudge111

    From a newbie, thankyou. It saves me googling to see what some of those mean.
