    Hi everyone,

    Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have always managed the property management process for my house myself but I have recently moved overseas and will now need to hand over my property to a manager.

    My property is a 2 bedroom unit in Bayside Melbourne.

    The agency is charging an all up rate of 8% pa and 1.5 week letting fee to manage the property.

    This seems high, before I go in and negotiate what is the market rate for a property that is relatively easy to manage that would be getting around $800 a week in rent

    I have heard some people are paying as low as 5% a year with a 2 week letting fee.

    Hi Propertyboy,

    I’m am in Newcastle and the market varies a little in different states however just to give you an idea the fees at the property management side of the agency i work in is 7.7% however it is negotiable and has come down to 6.5%
