How a Town Planner Can Help You Make Money, PLUS Lessons From a Lawyer!

We are delighted to announce two fantastic speakers for our April meeting.

Craig Christie of ASI Planning has been a Town Planner for over ten years, helping hundreds of clients with their development applications.

An active property investor himself, Craig has completed a number of subdivision projects. Craig is also an accredited riskSMART planner, which means he can get your approvals fast – no-one can get a development approval faster! Craig is a natural teacher and his clients value his ability to make very complicated issues easy to understand.

Craig will share his insights into how to identify the highest and best use of land; how to buy land before it gets rezoned for higher and more intense uses; how to develop land you don’t even own; how to find development opportunities that may be right under your nose; how to get a development application approved in 5 days; an update on the status of Brisbane City Council’s new planning scheme; and how to reduce the risk in your next property deal. Plus a Real Deal: how one client developed that big corner block and made over $150k!

Stephen Gibson is a Senior Associate in the Commercial Team at McCarthy Durie Lawyers. Stephen has been working in commercial law and its associated areas of property and succession law for over five years. He has particular expertise in commercial property transactions including commercial and retail shop leasing, property development, and the transfer and structuring of small and medium businesses.

Also skilled in commercial and industrial conveyancing, retirement village leasing, strata titling, trusts and succession planning, Stephen believes in delivering high quality and commercially appropriate outcomes to meet and exceed his client’s needs.

In addition to his qualifications, Stephen has a wealth of hands on experience in property investing and developing. He speaks our language and will be sharing some wise counsel for investors and landlords, using actual scenarios as illustrations. Find out why you need a solicitor who is experienced in property transactions on your side!

Come ready to take notes and do lots of networking. Looking forward to seeing you there!
