Hi I am interested in finding out as much as I can about Rooming house / Student accommodation. I am looking to purchase a property which is perfect, I think, to be converted into this type of dwelling.

I would like to know what sort of rules/laws are in place in regard to how many bedrooms you are allowed to have. If you have more bedrooms do you need more bathrooms, living areas, car parks, open space, etc. I have been told if you have more than 8 bedrooms it would be classed as a boarding house and then it requires permits and other stuff. I have tried looking online but can’t find much info so any help would be much appreciated.

    What Council area?

gotta double check that the envisaged uses if student accommodation is wanted in that council area .

as a general though I’ve seen 5 beds/ separate ensuite in a single house. and some more dense 10/11 people on some sites/ self contained units.
