Tasmania Residential Tenancy Amendment Bill

Hi all,

I have a (very) old rental property in Queenstown (TAS) and was advised that new legislation has been passed to tighten up minimum standards for rental properties. The best summary I could find is here.

But I have some questions about how the building structural requirements are going to be enforced, as a real estate agent said it may require building inspections. Now my property has some elements that certainly wouldn't meet modern building standards, (because the original house is from the 1800s and renovations were tacked on haphazardly after that).

Does anyone have any more information about this?
