Hi guys I am looking at project managing a buy-reno-sell in Ipswich in the coming months and am looking at setting up a team. I was wondering if anybody has done work in this area and has any referrals for any builders, plumbers, sparkies, cabinet makers etc that do work on smaller cosmetic jobs. I found this site http://www.serviceseeking.com.au/ and was wondering if anybody had used it and their thoughts on it/ any other good sites. Final question is are there any people who specialise in property staging ( more the hiring of the furniture then anything) in the Ipswich area?

    Thanks

    Vic

I have used service seeking for my current development in sydney and generally found it excellent. Some jobs attract a lot of people (like tiling, concreting, timber floor board installation, etc) and some don't (fencing, etc). I recommend you still do your due diligence. I also found that it was hard for them to give a quote over the phone/internet so they really need to come out and see the job.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your quick reply. I think I will compile a list of builders, plumbers/sparkies and use service seeker for the other trades. Out of interest did you use any builders etc off that site or any landscapers?

Thanks again for the reply have a great weekend

    Hi Vic,

I have some awesome tradies – but normally keep them to myself!! It's so hard to find good people so when you do, hang on to them real tight.

I use Kitchen Evolution (for laundry and kitchen cabinetry) and they are fantastic – Dane and David are the owners and it's a small operation where they do the work themselves. David's mobile is 0400 328 171. Tell him I sent you! (Jane from Hotspace). They are based near Ipswich.

Re staging – yes I have someone who will travel to Ipswich although she isn't based there. I know she does work all over Brisbane and the Gold Coast so I'm sure she'd be happy to help. Her name is Jillinda Perry-Haines – http://www.propertystylingandstaging.com.au/ or Ph 0406 167 807

Anthony from Lederlec is an awesome electrician. Once again not based near Ipswich but will travel almost anywhere in and around Brisbane. Highly recommended! I have used him for my last 3 reno's. Phone 0479 016 375.

If you're a Facebook user, it works well to ask your 'friends' if they have any contact names of tradies you need. I have done that a few times for my own projects as well as when managing projects for clients.

    Good luck!

    Hi Vic,

I too am looking to do a buy-reno-sell in the Ipswich area (still tossing up between that and build & sell) and I will definitely be checking out the serviceseeking site for other trades (thanks for that info!), but I just wanted to let you know that if you were looking at air conditioning and electrical, our company, GT Air, is Ipswich based and may be able to help you out with at least one of the trades!

I have worked with a builder, Neil Kickbusch, who is very good to deal with, I'm not sure if he only does full houses, but he might be worth a call, let me know if you would like his number.

A friend of mine is currently doing a reno out at Sadliers Crossing so I'll pick her brain once she's done to see who she would recommend, I know they are pretty happy that their builders are working on weekends at the moment so they can move in before Christmas!

    Good luck with everything!

    Kristy
