    Hi folks,

I'm hoping some of the Canberrians can help me out with something.

We've got an IP in the ACT and we've always paid all water (usage and charges). The property is individually metered.

Recently the tenant's usage has increased dramatically. The bill has increased from $350 last quarter to $530 this time and usage is double what it was this time last year. There's no garden upkeep to speak of so it's not being used on this. On NSW IP's we only paid connection not usage, but I had a feeling ACT was different. Where do we stand on this one?

Also given that it's already been billed, I guess the chances of putting it back onto the tenants is slim?

I'd love to hear from others who have IP's in Canberra to see what is the norm.

    Ta,

    Rusty.

I pay for connection and they pay for usage.

I actually pay the bills and tenants reimburse.

    Cheers

    Thanks Jamie,

Do you know if you have this written into your leases?

    No worries.

I'm pretty sure it was written into the last lease we signed off on.

    Cheers

    Okay, thanks,

I'll dig up our lease (expired) and look at the finer details.

    Regards,

    Rusty

Hope that's the only digging you have to do.
