New here, pls go easy on me :)

I've got a number of investment properties, and I am about to start a new business. Someone suggested to me to setup a trust, so that it will protect my assets and max my tax benefits.

    Anyone know a good accountant?

    Hi Helin

    Welcome aboard.

    Where are you located?

Not that you have to be in the same location as your accountant – but it's a good start in providing recommendations.

    Cheers

    Jamie

    Hi Helin

Recommend you see a lawyer for asset protection as that is legal advice and accountant for tax purposes.

Thats right accountants cannot give asset protection advice as this is legal advice and they are not trained in this area. But many do, so take their advice with a grain of salt, but it is important to get the tax advice as well.

    Hi Helin,

You could have a look at Chan and Naylor they are a very proactive company with tax advisors, accountants and lawyers all under one roof…I haven't dealt with them for a while now,but found them very good when I did. They have offices in all the major cities,in Australia ,from memory, and don't take their work lightly…if for some reason they couldn't give you an answer, they would set about finding an answer no matter what…anyway check them out and see what you think, cheers Brad
