Is it at all possible to only rent out 50% of the house?

Eg. two people both won 50% of the property, one person wants to rent the house while the other person doesn't due to centerlink benefits.

Is there any way around this? Eg. only renting half the year or something?

Sorry, my questions sound ridiculous I know, but I am just trying to figure out a way :(

Possibly the person who wants to rent half would rent their half and it would be agreed the oth person could live in the house

Like share accommodation? Unfortunately, that is not an option :(

So there is no way for the person who doesn't want to rent to avoid having to pay tax for their share?

From a centrelink point of view it would be an asset and probably have a deemed income anyway
