    Hi every one,

Four years ago my wife and I purchased a home in chile for Aud 20,000

it might seem like a bargain but to chile standards that was the normal price of a home

We just got it valued at aud 80000, we hoping to go to chile in jun 2013 and buy two other properties the yields are great and most properties provide both cf and cg

We are lucky that  my wife was born in chile and also we have our brother in law who lives there at well

I'm Maltese and in the last four weeks we have been talking to the banks in chile and we have found a bank that will lend to a foreigner. I must admit that the rates, service and product they offer are much better then here

Any ways enough about me but has any one bought a property in chile?

Not in Chile but did consider purchasing a unit in Malta. I’m also Maltese so the country isn’t foreign to me but the returns didn’t justify the purchase.

I have not invested in Chili. I was thinking about investing in apartments in the US, but I do not think I will do it. I will check out Chili now:-) It seems like it might be a great investment in the future for me!

Hi Zmagen, I was thinking about investing in the US property, but after careful research and consulting with other property investors, I have decided to postpone it for now.

    JP,

I'm extremely interested in investing in Chile, what bank is friendly to lending to foreign people, what did you have to do for tax and ID purposes?

Also what part of chile did you invest in?

Any information to help me get a start will be greatly appreciated.

As this has resurfaced… How did you end up going in regards to the trip in June this year? How is the Chile market traveling at the moment?

I'm thinking of buying an apartment in Santiago.  To the original poster, if you ever come back to the forum, I'd appreciate any info you can share about strata laws (or the Chilean equivalent) in the country.

    Hi Mattsta.

What is the main reason behind not wanting to purchase in the US?

    Thanks for your time
