We have a property adjacent to road zone category 2 (RDZ2) in an eastern suburb of Melbourne. We would like to build dual occupancy (one front and one rear). Talking to various professionals a number of questions came up:

    a. Is it must that cars need to exit in a forward motion?

    b. To have an extra crossover, is consent required from VicRoad? Does the precedence in nearby properties make the case stronger?

    c. Is there any set % up to which the first floor can be built?

    d. Is there any guideline for articulation or it is just arbitrary? Why single occupancy doesn't need articulation whereas the dual occupancy needs it?

Answers to the above questions will be much appreciated.
