This is the final piece i would like to have for my portfolio.  Not so much this island, but something comparable.  Fiji has some of the most beautiful it seems, but i hear there is political unrest there.  Panama is looking nice with there attractive banks and  retirement incentives for bringing your money there.  Nice thing about Belize is that it was part of the English empire and is the only English speaking country in Central America.

The idea of gold mining on a huge scale with heavy machinery and buy a chunk of land sounds pretty cool also

Bula! Fiji always has political unrest. Nothing to worry about. Unlike Syria your local political mercenary is easily distracted with a bowl of Kava. I have great sympathy for the Fijians and totally understand where they are coming from – although there are better ways to do it I thiink.

BTW I have never been but the Cook Is are supposedly the ‘new’ Fiji. I will be getting there soon as I can..

The expensive part is building a house worthy to be on an island.

You'd have to take all the building materials over by barge, either build all by hand, or bring in construction vehicles as required.

That's where the expense is… That's what makes it go up into the million+ mark.

We welcome liked minded people, i just would rather wait till i have more money, so i have the majority stake.  Michael would rather have more investors.  We talked about buying a 1960's wooden hull boat that was 70ft and use it for housing till we built some on the island.  the boat was 8,000, lol.

This is the one Michael really liked, it went up in price.  It was 2.6 now the price is 4 million.  Belize for half a million is a good starting point i feel like.

always  had a dream of  doing a similar  thing in vanuatu

have a boat there  and     just fly across  and spend the  winter  , fishing

this little island  of espirito  santo  was a  staging post for the US  forces  in WW2
    offensive  in to  Guadalcanal
the movie  musical   south pacfic    based on james minchiners  book was about this island
    Bali Hia

i think the worst mistake  would be to set up a business  in one of the places
crest  always  posts  about  a disater  investment in  the south pacific
alltough  he hasnt  spilled his guts  on the details.

the locals  have a have a saying

island time which loosley translates to "dont do today what wou can put off till tomorrow"

buying   some thing like these islands could  be the best  or   worst thing you ever did

dont Know  your itineary   but  crocs   only  live  in the top  one third  of the Australian  coast line

if your going to brisbane  you may   see some in captivity  at steve irwins   Australia zoo

    http://www.australiazoo.com.au/visit-us/how-to-get-here/

probably   best  not to see them in the wild   because they dont eat Aussie's   they  only eat tourist's !

Whats with her anyway   most  women want to  hold a Koala or pet a Kangaroo

Why dont you  post your itneary  and things you would like to see  and some forum  members
    may be able to help

Go to Darwin to see the crocs, they have the jumping crocs up there, they take you out on a double storey boat and they hang meat off the top story for the crocs and they jump out and grab it! Awesome sight!
