    Hey all

Does anyone know if pre-sale inspections are mandatory in Victoria? Would it be wise to get my inspector through the house even if the vendor/agent has arranged an inspection already?

I am looking at purchasing an old weatherboard home on a large block. The block size is what I find most appealing about the property however I still have intentions on living in the home for at least a few years. Any other suggestions about how I can ensure that the house in stucturely safe and sound?

    Thanking you in advance

    Emre

If you engage a consultant to make inspection specifically on your behalf, the advice you receive should then be impartial. A matter of hundreds of dollars now, may alert you to a much more expensive problem you may not otherwise have considered.
