How many investors would take up this opportunity to use SMSF to do renos. Real Estate expert Mr John McGrath describes changes to allow investors to renovate property through their self managed super fund as a "step in the right direction". When done well renovating a property can increase its value and this increase will compound over time. This change could give some younger super fund investors the kick start they need. Investors would no longer be at the mercy of financial market for growth in the size of their super fund. They could "create their own equity".
