    WEALTH BUILDING & SOLUTIONS

No matter how most Australians look at it, they are aware that the nest egg they have won't be enough to retire on and the only way to future financial independence is to acquire more income generating assets. But how?

In the 1960’s, the average Australian male left school at age 15, worked for the same company for 50 years, then retired at age 65 and, was dead at age 68. Retirement planning was not only unheard of it was also unnecessary because the Federal Government could afford to pay an Aged Pension for just 3 short years of retirement. In the 21st century the story is very different. Today, the typical Australian male stays in the education system until he is aged 20, works for several different companies over the next 35 years of working life, retires at age 55, and then spends an average of 25 years in retirement before he dies at around 80 years of age (Australian Life Tables 2010).

Retirement is no longer short-lived prior to death but now a major and significant part of our lives. This is great news and we should all be excited about this! More time to do the things you really enjoy. However, even though you’ll enjoy living a much longer life, financially, you’ll now have much fewer years to save for it! How do you achieve the wealth you need to provide for your longer retirement?

YOU HAVE THE CHOICE TO BE FINANCIALLY WEALTHY, COMFORTABLE OR BROKE

In Australia everyone has the choice to be rich, comfortable or broke. Everyone has a choice to live the way they want to and deserve to. There is no dignity in "just getting by" anymore and the "she'll be right mate" attitude from those who don't plan is from a bygone era.

Financial Wealth allows you to live without ongoing compromises on how you live and what you give to your children, parents, spouse and friends. Financial Wealth gives you time – time to do what you want to do and be who you want to be. Financial Wealth gives you the freedom to choose just when you want to retire – the freedom to choose when to stop doing what you have to do and start doing what you really want to do. Life does not begin at retirement. Life begins right now with the right knowledge.

    START LIVING NOW!

‘Living now’ could be as simple as paying off your mortgage early, buying a business or maybe you have grand plans of owning a larger or more luxurious home in the near future. Perhaps you'd like to have enough money to start a family or be able to afford to have your partner stay at home to look after the children. Maybe you would like to buy a luxury yacht ……..

If you are in your 40's or 50's, there's a good chance that you have already started to plan what you would like to do in your retirement, along with how much money you would like to live on. However, the reality is though, that most Australians will find themselves living on not much more than the old age pension when they retire. There is never a perfect time to start investing and creating wealth but, you must start sometime.

"The only thing worse than dying is running out of money first".

Most people have a profound fear of failure and, for most older people, their greatest fear is that they will live longer than their money. Fear of poverty is the number one fear from which the majority of people suffer. Sadly, so few take any action to prevent poverty or, remain blissfully ignorant of what the future holds for them. Perhaps if people realised the word Pension equals Poverty, more people might actually desire to learn more about investing and therefore working smarter and not harder. Unfortunately for 94% of Australians, it is simply easier to do nothing.

Approaching forty, I had an extraordinary daydream in which I almost grasped the gist and understood the nature of what it is that wastes in those wasted times.

Don't be fooled ….. When you have/ need to make a choice and don't make it, that is in itself a choice and that falls squarely on ones shoulders.
