    Hello

Is deprecation worth claiming? I mean, if you are going to keep the property then I believe that it is worth it, but if you are going to sell the property in the future then claiming depreciation may not be such a great idea.

Can anyone please share your thoughts on the above. Am I right? Wrong?

    Thank you

    Nathan

    I love depreciation :)

It’s why I look forward to tax time. Admittedly, I haven’t considered selling any properties – but even if the thought was in the back of my mind, I’d still be claiming it each year (that’s just me though – others might have a different take on it).

    Cheers

    Jamie

It is the Building Write off claim that if claimed adjusts the Capital base when the property is sold and not the Depreciation element.

    Yes definitely.

On all mine I have received more than the cost of the dep schedule in the first year.

Email depreciator.com and ask for a cost estimate. He'll tell you if it's not worth doing.
