    Hi,
I need help for window treatment. Our old home window coverings made of wooden shutters. I decided to replace the shutters with venetian blinds. Would you give me some good advice to save time and money and construct some good looking venetian blinds on my window which also ensure security also.

    Cheers

Go for the venetians with 50mm slats.  I think they look much nicer.  You could go timber or pvc.  Pvc are much cheaper and will not warp if they get wet.  So excellent for bathrooms and so forth.  Bunnings sells both, and you can install them yourself.

Agree with JacM, go the 50mm slats in pvc for rental properties :)

And here is my 10c worth… WHEN are they going to invent pvc slat venetians that present a different colour from the outside than the inside?  Generally from the inside, you want white.  Makes the place brighter and seem bigger.  But from the outside, you often want the light-coloured timber look.

    Thank you JacM,

http://www.outdoordesignershade.com.au/ solved my problem, i ask them as your suggested and they came to my home end of the last month and they made to measure our old window blinds. Now it looks cool. As you suggested JacM my venetian blind are now white colour from inside but outside is dark wooden colour.

    cheers

I guess it’s of no help now (but might be for others) but I’ve been dealing with http://www.cheapa-blinds.com.au for my new PPOR. My venetians should be arriving any day now – so far, the samples provided coupled with the service and price has been excellent. Hopefully the blinds I’ve ordered live up to my expectations.

    Cheers

    Jamie
