I have used AAMI in the past for my rental properties and always been very happy with their services

    Hi Lefty,
I've subscribed to AON for as long as landlord policies have existed, ? 9 or 10 years?
Have never needed to claim, but find their cover to be pretty comprehensive, & at a competetive price.
    Cheers,

    Hi Lefty,

I use Terri Scheer and have found them to be good and quite cheap I reckon. Their only product is Landlord insurance as far as I know so this is their only interest. I am happy with them anyway.

Terri Scheer are good (but won’t insure if you self manage). I think they also require annual fees paid upfront (not in installments).

I’m using ING and Real Insurance at present – both are competitively priced and allow for self managing.

    Cheers

Yes both true… May not suit some people.

Terri Scheer are the Landlord Insurers we use personally, and also recommend to our clients. They are the ONLY Landlord Insurer in Australia who ONLY insure Landlords. They do NOT insure anything else – cars, boats, life, etc.. I have known Terri from as far back as 16 years ago when she first started specialising. Now she has grown into a national insurer and the company does offer benefits and levels of protection unequalled by any other insurer. We have a write up on our website about Terri Scheer and would be happy to send you an information kit if you would like.
    Kind regards,

I'm insured with Allianz…….  I've never had to make a claim yet though so I don't really know what they are like.  I also got a quote from Terri Scheer but Allianz was a few hundred cheaper

Another vote for Terri Sheer, I did a fair amount of research before taking out landlord insurance, and I couldn’t find more comprehensive cover, not too expensive either. Fortunately I have never had to claim, so can’t comment on that side of it. I’m sure there will be someone on here has.

I use EBM.  I did my research and they are cheap and cover everything including accidental damage that a lot don't cover.  Like most others, I have never had to claim, so can't comment on the service that counts.

I have also used EBM. Have made claims and they were okay.

There is one thing to note with these policies though.

Have a close look at how an "incident" is defined under your policy. If for example your nice tenant decides to trash your house in a huge rage one night and punch holes in all your walls and basically destroy your place then that would be one "incident" and one incident equals one excess. eg $500.

If the nice tenant punches a hole in the wall once a week for 5 weeks you could end up in a situation where 5 excesses are payable. Got to have a really close look at your policy. Will also have a lot to do with the info you get from your PM.

AVOID Terri Scheer for property cover. They may be all right for rent recovery – but from my experience with cyclone damage, I doubt it.
