What state are you in? If VIC you can order a copy of the title here: http://www.vic.gov.au/inlink/links/search_results.html?keywords=Land%20titles&env=adm

Have you tried asking the neighbours?

Why don't you have the address? It should be on the title.  Have they since moved house?

Get your mortgage broker to search sales history of the property on http://www.rpdata.com .  At the very least, it should show you the real estate agency that sold the property.  Worst come to worst, you could approach the agency and ask them to go through their records, and contact the owner on your behalf.  Privacy laws will not permit them to give you the owner's details, of course…

the title docs generally only show the owner’s name or surname. It is the transfer document which shows the full particulars.

    Hi Guys
Yeh been racking my brain how to find it. Privacy law resticts the address and contact details. I tired facebook and linked in. The house doesnt have a back on it so its abandant and the lawn in 1 meter high :) I couldnt find and sold details which makes me think it was purchased along time ago.
Thought about asking the neighbors but that would be a last resort as neighbors might decide that they want to buy etc or worse maybe they wont like the look of me and decide to give me the run around.
I called NAB and asked them to pass along my details  and get her to call me, but they wouldnt.
Quite funny I called Aus post and was talking for a while to a lady there she let it slip that the redirected mail address is in QLD. I live in Sydney.

Anyone writen to an owner looking to contact them about a purchase of a property ? If so could you post up your letter here ?
    Thanks in advanced.

I assume you have posted a letter to the address you are interested in.

It would then redirect to the owner.

And they could then reply if they are interested.

    ?

I suppose you could send it registered post .. the one that requires id upon receipt.  The trail of progress of delivery might show the township the person lives in.  Could narrow down the white pages search….

    hi there,
have you tried the local council. I have found them to be very helpful when searching for owners of the vacant house/block. They can  give you an address but will not supply phone numbers. This is in SA so not sure about your respective area, but may be worth a try..
    Good luck.
