Am I the only person highly irritated by the number of perfectly feasible dwellings sitting on large chunks of land, but with a driveway to narrow to allow subdivision AND keeping the existing house?
Anyone got a tidy workaround for this that does not involve a bulldozer?

Have you thought about elevating the house and moving it over to allow for a bigger driveway? Obviously, you will need to get an expert to see if this is possible. If you are in Melbourne, I have a contact person.
I see many times… at least in QLD. Good size blocks at the rear of another house… selling so cheap because nobody wants them and I don’t blame them.
the cost of building a house at the rear of another house is exorbitant.
I would consider moving the existing house at the back, and selling the block at the front!

Hm, now we just have to figure out how to lift brick houses up and shift them into the back yard. Hmmmm.
