I am replacing a disgusting old electric oven/gas cook top  and wondered if I have to get the same electric/gas combo?

Or can I get gas oven/cooktop  ect ect. Want to make it an easy swap. Ta

No problem swapping to gas/gas the feed will already be there. You'll need a plumber in any case.

Don't have to, however the gas cooktop/electic oven is generally considered the most desirable.
Good to have instant heat on the cook top, even, controlled heat in the oven.

    Just my 2c.

You may find that the cutout in the benchtop is a lot bigger than the new appliance so you may need to patch or replace your benchtop & tiling.
