Has anyone ever owned or does own, a securely leased serviced apartment(s)? Are they are a good asset to have in a portfolio?

From what I can tell, almost all the outgoings/overheads are paid for by the company that runs the serviced apartment business and the lease terms are generally long-term, with periodic rises rental rates.
However, the returns are usually not that great… probably a little better than the rate on a high interest bank account.

Have I missed something? What are some of the advantages or disadvantages to owning one? Should I stay clear of them?
