Interested to hear how many people who have lodged 221D’s have been audited by the ATO?

Obviously not a concern if all of your accounts and statements (receipts etc) are well documented and organised, but a hassle none the least.

I just found this on the ATO’s web site:

“The 221D function has been identified as an intelligence gathering apparatus for identifying pay-as-you-earn erosion activities in the
individual taxpayer community. 221D variations are also a primary information source allowing the Commissioner to identify and assess
potentially improper taxation reduction through the use of investment schemes.”
