Hi everyone, I have to IP in Brisbane ( robertson and runcorn) that i need to re do the whole bathroom. I am just sick of doing small minor repairs to it and its costing me a fortune on plummers and handyman (as i dont live there myself).

I am wondering if anyone has experience in this. and know of cheap suppliers of : Tiles, and all the tile accessories. sinks, vanities, shower screens, taps and accessories. everything for the bathroom. I also need a mini skip to put in the rubbish. Paint and what not.

I know bunnings will have all of this but lets face it, they are not the cheapest. i am looking for warehouse or liqidators or factory seconds sorta thing where i can pick up from around brisbane area. I also might need to rent a ute.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

Check out Graysonline. They have renovation sales etc where you can pick up stuff nice and cheap! They tend to have a lot of bathroom fittings and kitchen appliances which is handy.

Grays is better than ebay it is all legit! Search for tap ware or if you go to sales they will have bathroom or renovator sales. I was looking the other day and there were really nice tap sets for starting 39 bucks. It is bidding but the goods come from the manufacturer or distributor. The have warranties and are either pick in a particular state or delivery. I just did a search then and it came up with 132 taps. Have a squiz. You sign up like ebay and give them ccard numb etc. Good luck. Have fun reno-ing.

Have you tried AuctionsRus? They are a great spot to go for cheap bathroom (and kitchen) bits and pieces – vanities, taps, tiles – all sorts of stuff… http://www.Auctionrus.com.au – they have a branch in Eagle Farm.

Remember that you may not need to gut the entire bathroom and start over. You may be able to retain some of the bathroom and renovate around the parts that are ok. I have renovated tonnes of bathrooms using this method (for myself and with my clients) for usually only a few thousand dollars.

Photos on my website if you're interested… http://www.HotspaceConsultants.com (I've also written a sereis of e-Books to help renovators of investment properties).

    Hope that helps!

Have a look at Eagle Farm in Brisbane, near the airport. There is an auction warehouse where you have to be present on the day but the bargains are worth it.  They sell goods, for renovation and equipment well below retail or wholesale price and are usually selling on behalf of an administrator or slightly damaged stock.  I saw ktichens being sold (flat pack unopened) for $500 that usually sell for $8000 in shops.

The truth is you have to put the effort in to make the returns.  Although having an investment property may seem easy,  the more effort you put in the more you get out of it.  Geting out there and checking these auctions and other sale methods means that you can be creative while saving money and find things that others can't be bother with.

    Good luck!

For the southside, I have bought tiles at Springwood, the long strip next to the highway and not far from Ikea with lots of car sale yards, don't remember the exact place but there are a few choices there. Got a very good price on a line that was going out of stock. For skips I have always just used the classified section in the local newspaper, get a few quotes and go from there, found them much of a muchness and all pretty good.

I love tiles in a property, one of the best ways to transform a floor when you are doing a reno I think, also prefer non white tiles that don't show every speck of dust.

Hi, Try highgrove trading or bathroom warehouse.  Both retail stores but better than not knowign what you are buyign at auction.  For auction houses, simply google "brisbane auctions".  Perhaps another avenue for you.
    Regards, Michael.
