    I've received conflicting information about the First Home Owners Grant and when it is paid.  I am buying a property with a tenant already occupying it.  I'd move into the property in about March next year and would occupy it for at lease six months.  My questions are –

    1. Can I claim the stamp duty reduction immediately?
    2. When is the grant paid?  On settlement or when I move in?  I've been told this can be influcenced by the type of loan I take out (investment or standard loan).

    Hi Rich71,

    iv recently ultilized the FHOG & PPOR consession
    FHOG is paid before or on settlement you don't see it all happens in the back end
    PPoR concession is done at settlement i acutally recieve my stamp duty concession about 3 days after settlement.
