    They have also increased their Interest only In Adavnce discounts.

    Also you can now pay Maximum Extra Repayment Amount on Fixed Rates, currently $15k, now to a maximum of $25k over the fixed term.

    Hi Richard,

    Thanks for the heads up – I have a couple of loans with St George who have similar fixed loans to the above with Westpac. My PPOR loan is fixed at the moment until Sept 2010 at 7.15. My question is at what point can you lock in a fixed loan to start again from Sept 2010, i.e is it 3 months before, 6 months before, etc and is there a rate lock fee?

    All depends on the lender but more likely 30 days before expiry and then normally locked on actual date of expiry unless you utilise the rate lock.

    Can anyone tell me why Westpac's fixed rates dropped in Australia while going up in NZ at the same time?
