    Hi,
Anyone who can recommend someone in Brisbane who can help me setup a trust fund?
There are so many options out there, but can't figure out who I need to go to setup a trust fund. You hear so much about solicitors who setup funds wrong and get the trustees into trouble.
    Any recommandations?
    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers,
    Bisse

Usually it is accountants that set up trusts. You will need advice on the tax aspects. But you will also need advice on the borrowing aspects too, so I recommend you speak to your broker too before you establish it.

There are "standard" trusts that are more or less off the shelf and there are more specialised trusts where the deed is specifically drafted for a particular purpose. What exactly are you after? Also, is this just a private trust for your family or say a unit trust for multiple investors?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the replies.

I am new to property investing, but have been reading up on the different kind of trusts available. I guess I am just finding it a bit hard to figure out where to start (solicitor/mortgage broker/accountant). I feel I am ready to take the jump, but am very determined to get the basics setup in the right way from the beginning.

While the trust is just for the family, Hybrid funds seems very attractive to me as they give me the benefits of negative gearing and the general benefits of normal family trusts. But I might be completely wrong and just need a normal trust.

So I am after someone trustworthy who can sit me down and tell me if it is a hybrid trust I need or not, and help me setting it up.

    Cheers,

    Thomas

    Hi Thomas

Email me. In any case, I think hybrid trusts are probably not worth the effort relative to the risks and complexities inherent in them.

    Hi Thomas

Welcome to the forum and i hope you enjoy your tme with us.

I am with Eddie i think you would be unwise to consider a Hybrid Trust in the current climate as away from the Tax issues finding a lender who likes them at a competitive rate and product is another issue.

Before you start out on Trust structures personally I would be looking to get your finances in order on your existng PPOR to make sure that your investments are all set up correctly.

Drop me an email and I would be happy to direct you accordingly.
