My husband and I are about to buy our first home and are looking in the Blue Mountains. Our price range is limited to under 350k, but we'd prefer to spend much less. This being the case, we're probably looking at a fibro home. We have our eye on one particular place, but my husband is worried about asbestos, given the age and make of the place. We'd like to do some renovations and extensions to the place, with a view to selling in a few years, but don't want to have to spend the earth. This being the case, the cost of asbestos removal seems like it might be a problem – I've had a look around online but can't find anything to indicate the cost of removal – does anyone have any experience with this?
