My property is currently managed through an agent. My question is how do i go about managing the property myself.

    What steps do i take??

    Hi Don

You just have to tell the agent you are going to manage it yourself, and give them the appropriate notice. Then you will need to tell the tenant and arrange how the rent is to be collected. Be prepared for a few extra phone calls and stories on how hard it is for them when you try to put the rent up etc.

Look at the contract you entered into with the agent. It should be covered there. If you can't find it maybe just tell the agent you want to manage it yourself and I am sure they will tell you they need xx weeks notice.
